Objective

District Mineral Foundation Trust

The overall objective will be:

To implement various developmental and welfare projects/programs in mining affected areas, and these projects/ programs will be complementing the existing ongoing schemes/projects of State and Central Government.

To minimise/mitigate the adverse impacts, during and after mining, on the environment, health and socio-economics of people in mining districts

To ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods for the affected people in mining areas.

  • Dec 2018
    Planning & Monitoring Unit set up for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the East Singhbhum DMFT.
  • Feb 2017
    First project taken up under DMFT East Singhbhum.
  • March 2016
    DMFT established in East Singhbhum as per Trust Deed.
  • March 2016
    Government of Jharkhand made the Jharkhand District Mineral Foundation (Trust) Rules, 2016 incorporating PMKKKY notified. Rules regulate the composition, functions and manner of working of the District Mineral Foundations and the amount of payment to be made to the DMF by the concession holders of minerals for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by mining-related operations.
  • Sep 2015
    Government of India launched Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyana Yojna (PMKKKY) to be implemented under DMF.
  • March 2015
    Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act amended in 2015 to introduce Section 9B for the setting up of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Trust as a non-profit body in any district affected by mining related operations
